High in the mountain peaks is where the crystalline stone is harvested; the monumental blocks cut up and sent to the valley below via suspended cables.
Concept I’m hoping to model soon
This has been a long journey for me spanning, many stages of transferring my drawing and painting skills to digital tools, as well as exploring new ways of depicting action and perspective.
My contribution to Michael Somoroff’s ambitious project that would explore the past, present and future of tabletop photography while simultaneously seeking to give us a taste of the world through visual imagery. I created the liquid through several stages, starting with a base mesh created in RealFlow that was then sculpted in Zbrush to add realism and detail, and rendered in Vray. Some compositing in Nuke and Photoshop was required before passing the render off to be combined with photographic elements into a final image.

Combining futurism and a touch of retro nostalgia, the sunset piece seeks to suggest the end of an unseen romance using landscape and perspective to impact mood and create emotion. I imagined it as a frame from a classic Hollywood romance dressed in futuristic details. The second is just a variation on the theme.
