A little photobash with painted details
Traditional oil paint, maybe around 2004. I loved the open landscapes I could see from the train while traveling through Greece and Romania. Painted this while the experience was still fresh in memory. The train’s motion captured in a reference shot gives rise to a film-like effect.
Finally breaking in my tablet on some 2D architectural sketches.
Amazing how well these keep the feel of my pencil drawings. First time trying to draw digitally. Took me a day of work to figure out the settings and get used to the tablet.

Main character and toy designs
With its beautiful blue shades, this sketch reached its apex before it was finished. It now lies in the pages of my sketchbook across from a page filled evenly with a vibrant texture of pen and colored ink lines. Filling up this page in layers of red, white and silver was a tremendous discovery. I had purchased the pens to draw the spiral lines, but instead they came to replace paint. In my exploration of texture, this seems like a uniquely modern and rich idea that relies heavily upon the use of color to create a specific optical vibration. Many…
